Reduced Tuition
Families in need of tuition assistance are encouraged to apply for a tuition reduction. Our admissions process is need blind. Applying for reduced tuition will not affect your application to Maple Street School.
Application Process
Maple Street uses School and Student Services (SSS) by the National Association of Independent Schools to evaluate a family’s level of need.
- Application: There are two ways to apply:
- Fill out your financial information online (this process is highly encouraged). Go to: http://sss.nais.org/
- Pick up a Personal Financial Statement form and “Family Guide to Financial Aid” brochure at the school’s reception desk. Fill out the form and send it in the envelope provided, along with the application fee (see below).
- School Code: The school code for Maple Street is 4555. Make sure you include this code on your form, either online or on paper.
- Application Fee: There is an application fee of $35 (online) or $42 (paper). If you feel the application fee presents a hardship for your family please contact the Maple Street School Director.
- Deadline: Reduced tuition applications are due February 1.
- Report: Your information will be processed by SSS and a report sent out to you within 2-3 weeks. If SSS has any questions, they will contact you directly. It is your responsibility to provide accurate and timely information to SSS so that the report they send the school will appropriately reflect your contribution amount. If your current financial situation is significantly different from the information your are filing, you may send a supplemental letter directly to Maple Street School (addressed to ATTN: Business Manager) explaining the difference.
Determining Your Tuition Reduction
Maple Street School will review the family reports and any other applicable information and determine the families with the highest need. We will notify families selected for reduced tuition by mail in April. The first reduced tuition payment is due July 1.
PLEASE NOTE: The school will make every effort to inform families of their tuition reduction application results before the registration deposit due date. However, this cannot be guaranteed. The registration deposit to hold your child’s place and schedule will still be due on April 23.
